Q: What is WRTN Week?A: WRTN Week is an annual event during the first week of August leading up to The Asteroid War Day where a unique prompt is released daily, giving any writer a challenge/fun activity to do during the summer. It is a non-serious, non-compulsory activity that is supposed to inspire, not require. Whether you participate on one day or every day, WRTN Week is a leisurely exercise for all, and it is hoped that it may help someone in a creative slump or a bored author find their way back to writing. There are no "rules," and pieces can be made any day of the week, month, or even year. Just have fun!
Q: How do I participate?A: See the prompts listed at the end or the constant updates on our socials (@wrtnmedia) and write! That's about it. Do whatever, whenever, however. Any genre, any format, anything that makes you proud and love writing. If you share it on social media, use #wrtnweek.
Q: Do I have to contribute what I write?A: Not at all. If you are interested, submit pieces to our form or email and read our content guidelines
Q: What do I get for participating?A: Nothing. There is no prize. BUT, you can contribute your piece to WRTN and get featured on our site, or use it for any other purposes. As always, your art is YOURS.
Q: What are the prompts?A: August 1st to 7th have prompts. The event ends on the 8th, where The Asteroid War will celebrate its year anniversary. Look below for each prompt. *Do not feel obligated to write on the exact day or in the order provided; they are just meant to inspire.*
