WRTN/The Asteroid SagaThe Asteroid Parts (2017)When I wrote the initial The Asteroid Parts back in 2017, I thought nothing of it. At that point, it was some useless story written for a silly school project. It demanded very little of me, very little of my skill. But, five or so years later, I revisited it, and man, it sucked. It was like a child wrote it, well, because, a child did write it. Though now, as I have aged, so has my ability to craft a narrative. And now, I'm capable of telling the story I wanted to tell all those years ago.
The Asteroid PartsOn March 13, 2022, I released The Asteroid Parts (Remastered), now known as just The Asteroid Parts. The original was changed to The Asteroid Parts (2017) to differentiate the two. Anyway, the new and improved version of the story achieved great success, gaining rave reviews and love all around.
This new version of the story is my first serious entrance into narrative work, being used as a beta test for the future. In the book, you follow astronauts Tim and Claren as they team up with new alien friend Trimdin to defeat the almighty Queen and get the necessary parts to fix their crash-landed ship. There are many twists and turns, as dilemma after dilemma causes them trouble, along with Trimdin's difficult past with The Queen, which leads to the explosive finale.
My intent with this first part of the trilogy was to make it more serious, to insert some real drama into it all. I wanted to expand the amazing world it takes place in, building it up and adding a deep history to it all. Without spoiling anything, let me just say that I specifically created the relationships in this story as a ploy to have a dramatic and surprising ending, and its consequences will affect the rest of The Saga greatly.
The most important characters to look out for in the future are Trimdin and Quinten, as they will be lasting and reoccurring characters through every aspect of this universe. But Tim and Claren are just as important, even though they do not appear officially in The Asteroid War (or maybe they will...). I do have plans for them, though, and they will officially return for the third book.
The Asteroid WarThe Asteroid War is coming on August 8, 2022, and I can't wait for you all to see it. For fans of the first, this one will be a slight change in tone, as it switches from a fun and cute story of friendship to a serious and real story of revenge. But the lesson learning remains, as this new book tackles the idea of how selfishness, greed, and trauma can cause many to do things they never would before. TAW focuses on a still vengeful Trimdin who seeks to defeat the one who helped murder his brother: Quinten. To complete his dream, he has to go to war, sacrificing the lives of many for the pitiful mission of killing one alien. Though after a crushing defeat, Trimdin learns a lesson (which you can find out for yourself) that changes his fate and the outcome of the fight.
This story was a true joy to create, as it beautifully expands the narrative world it takes place in and enriches it with new ideas, concepts, and events that still feel at home in its world. The largest of these is the development of Quinten's backstory and the Cross-Beltian Wars, where we learn the tragedy behind the mayhem. These concepts will find themselves in a prequel trilogy, which will be announced soon! Overall, The Asteroid War is an exciting next step in this original trilogy, and I hope it finds its ground with readers.
The Asteroid War releases on August 8, and its sequel, The Asteroid Home, is coming on December 31, exclusively to WRTN.
The Asteroid HomeThe Asteroid Home is coming on December 31, 2022, and I can't wait for you all to see it. For fans of the first two, this one will be a slight change in story, as it switches from the more conflict-driven narratives of the past to a more character and world-building one. But there is still plenty of great action, tension, and fighting as we see Tim and Claren integrate into an alien society after the destruction of Earth (read The End) and watch the effects of The Asteroid War play out. TAH focuses on ideas of community, of finding a new home, while at the same time talking about emotions and having deep conversations about the feelings and trauma of the characters.
This new book for WRTN is truly exciting, as it will be one of our longest products together: 30,000 words. Easily it is one of the most detailed and complicated stories I have dared to tell, and it shows constantly. Much of TAH really brings attention to the smaller things in the saga, to the nuances of it all, and I think that is why it is so unique. Never have I put so much thought and effort into one creation, as I dare to develop the world Tim, Claren, Trimdin, Kiran, and more live in. That is, beyond a doubt, the biggest factor in why this will be such a great story, and I cannot wait for you to read it.
The Asteroid Home releases on December 31, exclusively to WRTN. But don't think that that is The End...
