WRTNGoodbye is not a word I am afraid to use. I'm usually even laughing when I say it. And you always know I mean it.
As its founder, I never thought WRTN would make it four years. It's lived a longer life than my modern self has, because while I seem to barely hold a coherent version for nearly half a decade, this website has always been a constant. Strange.
It has evolved, though. Hell, it wasn't even always called this. Apple Lover Media, anyone?
Sure, its purpose has grown and dwindled. From a personal portfolio, to a burgeoning platform, to a seeming media empire (let me have my victory), to a shrinking brand, to a personal portfolio yet again. Crazy.
Starting tomorrow, March 14th, 2025, WRTN will enter an archival state where pieces only by me will be available. Contributor content has either been removed or moved over the Monomoy Writes. If you'd like me to send you any of your forgotten works, let me know!
Thank you to those who contributed. You quite literally became part of a dream of mine, and I hope that I delivered what was expected. I personally always loved reading what was written and submitted, and I know so many others who'd say the same in a heartbeat. WRTN became something bigger than myself, and though I have many issues with my execution of it, this journey was beyond building. Thank you, again, for YOUR hard work. You are what made this website what it is.
The same goes for readers like YOU. Today is a day of celebration, not just of myself or WRTN, but of all who built it up. I and it are forever indebted.
Writing will forever live on as a cornerstone of human life. It will continue to be part of mine.
Happy WRTN Day!
