What's Next For WRTN? - A Quick Insight (2024)

Today marks the start of WRTN Week 2024, an event started last year to celebrate writing by inspiring authors from all walks of life to take some inspiration and just... write. From August 1st to the 7th, a new prompt will be released on our social media (see schedule below), with everything being capped off by The Asteroid War Day on the 8th.
August 8th holds many important meanings here at WRTN. Firstly, of course, TAW gets to celebrate its anniversary, 2024 being the book's second. It is also the birthday of our founder. But in just over one revolution of The Earth around The Sun, it will hold an even heavier title: the final day of WRTN. 8/8/2025 will conclude our active run, but as has been explored one too many times on our site, "the end" is never truly that. More plans will be detailed as WRTN Day 2025 approaches, but it only feels right to make it clear when we view the end to be.
On a more positive note, WRTN's got twelve months to be the best it can be! WRTN Week is truly one of our best, most open events, and we can't wait to see what comes of it. In September/October, Monomoy Writes will return, and together, we'll finish out the year with WRTN Review. So much work is to come, and the future is bright for encouraging the art of writing.
This week, and the next year as a whole, will be a flurry of feelings and happenings, but nothing has been more valuable than what WRTN has given so many throughout its years. Thank you, any and all of you, for being here with us.
